Vital reflections for managers:
Finding creative solutions to problems

Study Options for Managers in 2012

Everyone would agree with the premise, 'People are an organisation's greatest resource'. Yet in practice, this expensive resource is frequently squandered as managers and organisational leaders struggle to successfully resolve conflict, meet goals and utilise people's strengths.

Consequently I’ve developed a six month long programme where participants practice stepping back from conflictual situations in order to discover new perspectives that are generative of creative solutions.

The two workshops that are part of this course will introduce you to the following:

  • The 'Vital Reflection' process.
  • The practical skills of facilitation.
  • The strategies that will assist you to effectively manage the relational environment.
  • Ways to use the power deferential to facilitate effective decision-making processes.
  • Strategies to review the systemic health of the organisation.
  • The development of leadership skills.

Between the two workshops (28 & 29 May 2012 and 27 & 28 September 2012) participants will practice the skills demonstrated in Workshop One. This practice will be demonstrated through the following:

  • -  Transcripts.
  • -  The use of recordings (audio and DVD material).
  • -  Reflections and conversations with group members.

After reviewing this material, I will discuss and demonstrate the practical application of relevant theoretical ideas, and may also suggest reading material. I will do this using either Skype technology or audio-recordings.
